Q4. I have heard you can’t
spray Buffalo grasses for weeds without killing them.
Is this true?
Answer: Yes,
that is except Sir Walter Premium Lawn Turf. Householders
have let us know that as long as turf is established
and directions are followed you can spray for broadleaf
weeds with only minor setbacks reported.
Terry
Is extremely happy with the Sir Walter, has had other people commenting on it and how nice it looks – he has a problem with a round leaf succulent weed that is coming up through it by the bucket full, he has been pulling it out, would like to know if he can spray it with something or is his lawn still to young. It has been down for about 6 weeks now.

Q5. Why should I spend more on
Sir Walter when other varieties like couch are so much
less.
Answer:
For a start Sir Walter Premium Lawn Turf has a longer
growing cycle (one crop per year compared to up to three for couch), therefore keeping it greener in winter,
is drought tolerant, self repairing, virus resistant,
shade tolerant and, here is the money saving one, it
requires LESS maintenance. Couch varieties need to be
mown with a cylinder mower to look professional and
vertimowed at least every two years. Sir Walter can look great with a well maintained rotary mower. Also it does not
invade your garden beds and paving like kikuyu and couch and requires much less fertiliser.
People are also purchasing it for the “sell on
“ properties because its good looks enhance the
overall appearance of your home and contribute to a
quick sale.
