Water use on Synthetic Turf

Pouring the water onto Synthetic Turf.

Around the world sporting clubs are making Turf curators install irrigation systems before they will let their players use the grounds. The reason is not to nuture plant health, but to keep the synthetic turf cool enough to play on before the game (on a 37 degree day temps have been recorded on synthetic turf up to 97 degrees celcius), but also to clean up after players spit and blood etc when the game is finished.

Residents in drought infected areas are having to watch their turf and plants die while the local hockey club pours water onto their synthetic turf.
