Knights Coastal Special Lawn Mix
Knights Coastal Special lawn Mix is a lawn fertiliser made by Lawn Doctor Turf Solutions to suit our coastal sands. High in iron and trace elements and guaranteed to be the best thing you could give your lawn.
Knights and Lawn Doctor Turf Shop have been making and selling Knights Special Mix Lawn Fertiliser fertiliser for nearly 20 years. In that time we have seen the popularity of this lawn fertiliser grow. That is because it works on our coastal sands.
Knights Coastal Special Mix will also help if you have yellowing of the leaf caused by chlorosis. Perth’s coastal sand has a lot of limestone in it – making it alkaline. Alkaline soils block plants taking up vital nutrients like iron. When plants lack iron they get yellowing of the leaf, chlorosis. Fertilisers high in iron can combat this very quickly.
Why It Works
There are many good quality fertiliser brands in the market – very few however are made in WA for Perth. Fertilisers made in other states are produced for a very different type of soil. For a fertiliser to work effectively on any lawn variety – even a quality fertiliser – it must be made for the right soil conditions. This is why Knights Coastal Special Mix lawn fertiliser is so effective in our Perth sands.
How To Use
Knights Special Mix is very easy to use. It should be applied regularly and lightly every 6 to 8 weeks in Perth. This is because our sand does not retain nutrients very well. A very light fertilise often will keep the nutrient level up for a green healthy lawn without getting massive growth flushes.
If your lawn is very hungry – you can tell this because it will lack colour and vitality, you should give a higher dosage for the first application. After this initial application you can cut the dose rate back. As a guide it is about a handful per square metre, or if you have a spreader, put it on the middle setting.
You cannot apply to much if you water it in well. After it is watered in it is safe for pets and children to go out on the lawn. DO NOT apply unless you intend to water in thoroughly. Do not rely on the rain to do it unless we are going to get over 10mls of rain in a short period. You can burn the leaf on your grass if not watered in properly.
Try and spread as evenly as possible. You will notice if we get it wrong by some of your lawn being bright green and lush and other areas not so good. If you reapply and still have patches maybe you need to check your retic for teh cause of dry patch.
